Major fire breaks out at four factories in Kundli
A major fire broke out at four factories, including a footwear company, in the Kundli industrial area on Friday night.
As many as 16 fire engines were pressed into service to douse the flames. It took around 10 hours to control the fire. No casualty has been reported in the incident.
As per available information, the fire began at Omkara Footwears in the Kundli industrial area at around 10 pm in the night.
Due to high-speed winds, the high flames spread quickly to three more factories – Royal Pollyurathen, Shiv Charan Das Masala and Durga Cooling System Units.
As many as 16 fire engines from Kundli, Sonepat, Gannaur, Rai, Narela (Delhi), Rohtak, Sampla and Bahadurgarh reached the spot to control the flames.
Goods, raw material, packing material and machinery worth crores of rupees were damaged in the incident.
The actual reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained. However, prima facie, a short circuit is said to be behind the fire.
Subhash Gupta, director, Kundli Industrial Association, said the footwear factory had completely burned down, while the other factories had incurred huge losses due to the fire.
