Major relief for Mahendragarh farmers: CM announces 1,450 tubewell connections
In a major announcement addressing a long-pending demand of farmers, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday declared that 1,450 pending tubewell connections would be released within the next three months for farmers who have already deposited the requisite charges.
Speaking at a rally in Mahendragarh, convened by BJP MLA Kanwar Singh Yadav, the CM also urged farmers who had applied for tubewell connections up to 2023 but have not yet paid the required fees to do so promptly to avoid further delay.
Alongside this, Saini unveiled a development package worth Rs 152.87 crore for the Mahendragarh Assembly constituency, launching and laying the foundation for 30 infrastructure and public service projects aimed at strengthening regional growth.
Saini announced the establishment of a new grain market in Mahendragarh Assembly and a cow sanctuary in any village where suitable land is available. In addition, upon availability of land in the villages of Usmapur, Barda, Khatod or Jadwa, a veterinary dispensary and hospital will be set up.
“The existing animal dispensary in Degrota village will be upgraded to a veterinary hospital at a cost of Rs 40 lakh. To establish a government VLDA college, feasibility of the same in the region would also be examined. Power supply will be provided to 56 colonies in the Mahendragarh Assembly segment,” he added.
The Chief Minister also spoke on national pride, referencing the Indian armed forces' success in Operation Sindoor. “If anyone dares to provoke India, we will respond firmly,” he said, paying tribute to the valour of Rao Tula Ram, a key freedom fighter in the 1857 revolt.
“This operation has shown India’s strength to the world,” he said.
Reinforcing his support for Prime Minister Modi’s development vision, the CM said: “Haryana must be the engine of growth for a Viksit Bharat by 2047. We have fulfilled 22 promises made in the BJP manifesto and work is ongoing on 90 more.”
Irrigation Minister Shruti Choudhry praised the Army’s swift response to the Pahalgam terror attack and announced Rs 55 crore for water supply projects in 18 villages and Rs 13 crore for revival of local rivers.
Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao hailed South Haryana as the 'land of warriors', urging the CM to establish an IIT in Mahendragarh and pledged a new government hospital in the city.
MP Dharambir Singh, Narnaul MLA Om Prakash Yadav, and former ministers Ram Bilas Sharma and Abhay Singh Yadav were also present.
