Ferozepur Jhirka MLA Mamman Khan has written to the Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB), seeking urgent intervention against the growing menace of pollution allegedly caused by slaughterhouses in Mewat. His appeal comes amid ongoing protests and rising public outcry from villagers affected by the operations of these units.

In his letter to the HSPCB, Khan highlighted complaints from residents of several villages, including Mandikhera, Naingla, Jalalpur, Ferozepur, Ranika, Patakhpur, Kultajpur, Sakras and Nawli, who have raised serious concerns over foul odours, improper waste disposal, animal cruelty and overall degradation of the environment.

“I recommend that you kindly take strict action against slaughterhouses. They are creating severe unsanitary living conditions, compromising public health and quality of life. Licences must be reviewed and cancelled where necessary to ensure safe, hygienic and livable conditions for residents, with no further disruption to their daily lives,” Khan said in the letter.

He emphasised that the situation has deteriorated to a point where day-to-day life in these villages is being severely impacted by the operations of the nearby slaughterhouses. The MLA has called for immediate action from the pollution control board to curb the issue.
