Man arrested for murdering wife, son; sent to two-day police remand
Dhand police have arrested a man for allegedly killing his wife and son. The accused has been identified as Ajay alias Ajju, a resident of Barot village. He was arrested by Dhand SHO sub-inspector Sanjay Kumar along with his team members and with the cooperation of CIA-1.
Giving details, the police spokesperson informed that Sagar, a resident of Dhauna village, said that his sister Sudesh was married to Ajay. Sagar alleged that Ajay used to frequently assault his sister and had even threatened her, saying that if she informed her family about the abuse, he would kill her and their son Simrat.
On April 16, the family received a call informing them that Ajay was physically assaulting Sudesh. When they rushed to the government hospital in Kaithal, they came to know that Ajay had allegedly slammed his son Simrat to the ground, killing him on the spot, and assaulted Sudesh with a brick, leading to her death as well.
A case was registered at Dhund police station. During interrogation, it was revealed that the accused used to frequently thrash his wife. Reportedly, the motive behind the murder was Sudesh informing her family about Ajay’s abusive behaviour, which enraged him.
The accused was produced in court on Sunday, where the police secured a two-day remand for further investigation, the spokesperson said.
