A man has been arrested in connection with the death of his wife, who allegedly died by suicide due to dowry harassment. The accused, Suraj (27), was taken into custody following the death of his wife, Bharti, whose body was found hanging at their home on December 4.
The police said Bharti’s father, Fatehpal accused Suraj and his family of harassing his daughter over dowry demands. He alleged Bharti was subjected to abuse by her in-laws, who insisted on a dowry of Rs 50 lakh and a car as part of her marriage.
