Gurugram man beats live-in partner’s 7-yr-old son to death, arrested

The Gurugram police have arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly beating the seven-year-old son of his live-in partner in the Rajendra Park area. The accused had also thrashed the victim’s brother, who is undergoing treatment. An FIR was registered at the Rajendra Park police station.

- According to the complaint filed by the deceased boy’s grandfather, after the death of his son, his daughter in along with her two sons started living with the accused, Vinit Chaudhary, in the Rajendra Park area.
- The complainant alleged that the accused used to beat Manu and Preet in the absence of their mother. He again thrashed the children on Sunday evening, when they had to be rushed to a hospital, he added.
According to the police, the arrested accused was identified as Vinit Chaudhary, a native of Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh. He was working in a private company in Gurugram and had been in a live-in relationship with the woman. The couple was living with the woman’s two sons in the Rajendra Park area for several months.
According to the complaint filed by the deceased boy’s grandfather, who lives in Tek Chand Nagar, his elder son Vijay Kumar used to live with his wife and children in his house. After Vijay’s death in 2023, his wife along with her two sons Manu (9) and Preet (7) started living with Vinit in the Rajendra Park area.
The complainant alleged, “Vinit used to beat Manu and Preet in the absence of my daughter-in-law. Vinit had gone to his village in UP and had returned a week ago.”
“On Sunday evening when Vinit came home, he thrashed both children in the absence of their mother. The boys got injured and were rushed to a hospital, from where my daughter-in-law informed me about the incident. Preet had died by the time I reached the hospital, while Manu was undergoing treatment,” the deceased’s grandfather added.
Following the complaint, Vinit Chaudhary has been booked on murder charge at the Rajendra Park police station on Sunday. The police arrested the accused on Monday from the Rajendra Park area.
“The arrested accused has confessed to the crime. He will be produced in a city court tomorrow,” said the spokesperson of the Gurugram police.
