An FIR was registered at Palam Vihar police station.

According to the complaint filed by Devendra Yadav, a resident of Dhani Mahachana village, he had given his car to Yaksh, a resident of Dharma Colony here, on December 13 in 2023. Yaksh used forged documents to sell his car to Ankush, a resident of Devnagar in Sonepat.

“When I tried to contact Yaksh, his mobile phone was switched off, following which I went to his house to meet him but he was not there. When I approached Ankush, he asked me to return the amount that he had given to buy the vehicle. After this, Ankush sold the car to Dr Asif Ahmed Bhatt in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. I came to know about this when the car came for service at Mahindra Himalaya Motors Service Centre in Srinagar,” Devendra said in his complaint.

An FIR was registered at the Palam Vihar police station against Yaksh under relevant sections of the BNS on Tuesday. A senior police official said the probe was underway and that the accused would be arrested soon.
