Man booked for sexual abuse of minor in Jind

The Jind police have registered a case of sexual assault under various sections of the POCSO Act against a 50-year-old man.

The district administration had successfully intervened in the marriage of this minor girl on December 1. After police intervention, the groom, a 32-year-old youth from Karnal District, had returned without solemnise marriage.

According to police, the mother of the victim had registered the case against her neighbour under sections of the POCSO Act. In her complaint, she said that when they were out of the house for labour work, the accused had brought her minor daughter to his house and sexually abused her.

The police team had raided the suspected hideouts of the accused. The accused is absconding.
