A man was allegedly murdered by his friend, who hit the victim with a bat during a fight that broke out while they were drinking alcohol in the new Palam Vihar area last night. The police arrested the accused this morning.

According to the police, the deceased was identified as Fatehabad native Bhoop Singh (32), who was working as a manager with Shobha construction company. He was living with his family in new Palam Vihar Phase 2. The accused was identified as Anish (24), a resident of Bhuttanpur in Faridabad. He and the victim lived in the same neighbourhood.

According to the complaint filed by the deceased’s brother, Bhoop’s wife informed him that Bhoop and others were drinking alcohol in a neighbouring house. After some time, when she heard noise and reached the neighbouring house, one of the persons was standing with a bat, while Bhoop was lying on the floor.
