Man dies after being hit by car in Gurugram

After the accident, the driver fled along with his vehicle. An FIR has been registered against the absconding car driver at the Sector 56 police station.
According to a complaint filed by Ankit Kumar Pandey, a resident of Siwan in Bihar, his maternal uncle, Sonu Tiwari (25), a resident of Gopalganj in Bihar, used to work as a driver at a firm. Both of them lived in a rented room in Wazirabad village and had left for duty on their respective motorcycles at around 9.45 am on Wednesday.
“I was a little ahead of Sonu and while reaching Kabootar Chowk of Devendra Vihar, a speeding car suddenly took a U-turn towards Devendra Vihar and hit Sonu’s motorcycle. After the accident, the driver fled with the car while Sonu was critically injured. I rushed him to a nearby private hospital where doctors declared him dead,” Ankit said in his complaint.
Following the complaint, an FIR was registered against the unidentified car driver under relevant sections of the BNS at the Sector 56 police station.
“We have sent the body to the mortuary for the post-mortem examination, and are trying to nab the car driver who is yet to be identified,” said a police officer.
