What was meant to be a joyous wedding celebration turned into a heartbreaking tragedy when a 27-year-old man died under mysterious circumstances at Mussa Ahli village in Fatehabad district on Saturday.
Gurpreet, a resident of Fazilka, had come to his aunt’s house to attend his brother’s wedding, scheduled for February 3. The family had organised a Sukhmani Sahib Path ceremony, drawing many relatives to the house. Before the ceremony, Gurpreet went to a neighbour’s house to take bath.
When he didn’t return for over half an hour, family members grew concerned. They broke the door of the bathroom and found him lying unconscious. He was rushed to the Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Initial investigations suggest that Gurpreet may have suffocated due to a gas geyser. However, the exact cause of the death will be confirmed after the post-mortem report.
