A man was duped of Rs 45 lakh on the promise of a residential plot in Jagadhri.

In his complaint to the police, Surajmal of Jind district, said he made an agreement with Paramjeet Kaur of Mehlanwali village that he would buy a plot of 1750 sq yard in Jagadhri.

He said he paid Rs 45 lakh to her in 2018 and after getting the payment she gave him a full payment agreement of the said plot in writing.

He alleged that so far she had not got the sale deed registered in his name.

“When I requested her to get the sale deed registered in my name, the woman got me threatened by Harpal Singh of her village,” the complainant told the police.

On the complaint of Surajmal, a case was registered against Paramjeet Kaur and Harpal Singh, both residents of Mehlanwali village at the Sadar police station, Jagadhri, on November 28.
