Man found hanging from ceiling fan, three booked

The Kurukshetra police have registered a case of murder against three people, including the wife of a man whose body was found hanging from a ceiling fan at his house on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Sandeep Kumar, a resident of Kurukshetra.

The father of the deceased, Naresh Kumar, a resident of Karnal, in his complaint to the police stated that his son Sandeep Kumar was living in a rented accommodation in Ansal City with his wife, with whom Sandeep had a love marriage 10 years ago. Sandeep used to work as a truck driver and used to stay out of his house for many days due to his work.

Naresh Kumar alleged “A friend of Sandeep used to visit his house often due to which he came in contact with Sandeep’s wife and he started visiting the house even in the absence of Sandeep. Sandeep’s wife, and his friend along with another person, strangulated Sandeep and later hung his body from the ceiling fan to make it appear like suicide. They managed to flee from the spot.”

Naresh Kumar claimed that his son was killed and it was not a suicide case.

The body of the deceased was handed over to the family after postmortem on Wednesday. The couple had two children.

Thanesar Police Station SHO Baljeet Singh said, “A case has been registered on the basis of the complaint received and the body has been handed over to the family. Investigation is under way and on the basis of the investigation and postmortem report, further action will be taken.”
