The fast-track special court (exclusive under POCSO Act) of Additional District and Sessions Judge Narender on Friday awarded 20-year rigorous imprisonment (RI) to a man for raping a 13-year-old girl. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 52,000 upon the convict. The court has ordered that Rs 40,000 be given to the victim out of the fine amount. Special Public Prosecutor Vijender Singh said the incident was reported to the Sector 27 police station on December 18, 2023. The mother of the victim, in her complaint to the Sector 27 police, said one Ravi, alias Mukul, of Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh had raped her minor daughter. The accused also threatened to kill the victim if she told anyone about the incident, the mother alleged.
