Man gets 7-yr RI for engaging in obscene act in front of minor
The court of Additional Sessions Judge Ashwani Kumar has sentenced a man to seven years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) for engaging in an obscene act in front of a 7-year-old girl. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 60,000 on the convict, identified as Anand, a native of Jorasi village in Nainital, Uttarakhand.
According to the police, a complaint was received on June 7, 2022, wherein the complainant stated that Anand engaged in sexual activities in her presence. An FIR was registered at the Sector 40 police station and he was arrested.
After arresting him, the police team investigated the case and gathered all necessary evidence and witnesses to be presented in court.
“On the basis of evidence and witnesses, the court of Additional Sessions Judge Ashwani Kumar on Monday held the accused guilty of the crime and sentenced him to seven years of RI and imposed a fine of Rs 60,000 on him,” said a spokesperson of the Gurugram police.
