The accused, identified as Kasim, was booked for murdering his wife, Sajida, after his demand — a car and Rs 2 lakh in dowry — was not met, based on a complaint lodged by his wife’s family in 2021.

He was arrested but eventually let out on bail.

The court held him guilty and reserved the quantum of punishment.
