Man held for duping youth on pretext of sending him abroad

Accused promised work visa, failed to deliver or refund amount

The Hisar police have arrested a man accused of cheating a local resident of over Rs 17 lakh on the pretext of sending him abroad for employment.

According to Investigation Officer Sub-Inspector Surender, the case was registered at Sadar Police Station on the complaint of Devender, son of Mangeram, a resident of Dhansu village in Hisar district.

In his complaint, Devender said in July 2023, he came into contact with an employee of Rudraksh Company, who promised to arrange a work visa for him in a foreign country. “He took Rs 1 lakh in cash and Rs 16.45 lakh via RTGS, besides another Rs 10,000 later,” Devender said.

However, after receiving the money, the company’s director, Rakesh Rikhi, along with other employees, neither provided the promised visa nor returned the amount.

Based on the complaint, a case was registered under relevant sections of the IPC at Sadar Hisar Police Station on August 5, 2025.

Following an investigation, the police arrested Rakesh Rikhi, a resident of Chandigarh, in connection with the fraud.

Further investigation is underway, police officials said.
