Man held for rape, blackmail
The police have arrested a youth in connection with an incident of rape and blackmailing the victim on the basis of a video of the crime. The accused was reported to have taken an amount of Rs 2.70 lakh from the victim and had been absconding for the past about five months.
A police official said the police had registered a case on May 1 on the basis of the complaint lodged by the victim after the accused made the video viral on social media . It was revealed that the accused, Rahul, had developed friendship with the victim raped her on the promise of marrying her in March this year.
