Man held with fake currency

A man, who previously had served an imprisonment of 20 years in connection with a murder case, has once again been arrested.

This time, he was apprehended for the possession of fake currency with a face value of Rs 34,000. The arrest was made by the special detective unit, Kaithal, from Pyoda Road in Kaithal. The accused has been identified as Chandi Ram, a resident of Dandoli village in Jind district, said Kaithal police spokesperson.

On a tip off, Chandi Ram was reported to be arriving on a bike with fake notes. Based on the information, a team was formed and the accused was arrested with fake currency and the bike was impounded, the spokesperson said.

He further stated that during the search, 68 fake notes of Rs 500-500 were recovered from his possession. A case has been registered against him. He was produced in the court on Wednesday.
