The CIA-2 unit of the Kurukshetra police has arrested a man and recovered a country-made pistol and live cartridges from his possession on Thursday.

The accused has been identified as Ramandeep, alias Jony, a resident of Kurukshetra.

Kurukshetra police spokesman Naresh Kumar said, “Following a tip-off that a miscreant carrying a weapon was present near Devi Lal Park and he might commit some big crime, a team of CIA-2 unit reached the spot and spotted the accused on a motorcycle. During checking, a country-made pistol, 40 live cartridges and three magazines were recovered from his possession and a case under the Arms Act was registered at the Sadar Thanesar police station. He was produced before a court which sent him to three-day police remand. There was already a case of brawl registered against him at the Jhansa police station.”
