Man kills children, hangs himself in Faridabad; blames wife in video
Two daughters dead, son critical
A 32-year-old man allegedly strangled his three children and, believing them dead, hanged himself at his home in Nekpur village early Friday morning. While the man and two of his children were declared dead, his son remains in critical condition.
The deceased, identified as Karmaveer, was found hanging by family members around 5:00 am. His children — Chhavi (10), Nishant (8) and Srishti (6) — were found unconscious nearby. All four were rushed to a private hospital where Karmaveer and Chhavi were declared dead. Srishti later succumbed to her injuries during treatment. Nishant is currently battling for life in the ICU.
Before taking the extreme step, Karmaveer recorded a video on his phone. In the footage, he held his wife Chanchal, her sisters, and her brother responsible for his actions and demanded justice.
Police were alerted by the village sarpanch around 6:30 am. A senior investigating officer stated that preliminary findings suggest Karmaveer strangled the children with a rope before hanging himself.
The police spokesperson, Yashpal Singh, confirmed the ongoing investigation into the domestic discord, stating, “The deceased Karmaveer had been having a dispute with his wife Chanchal and a domestic discord led to his extreme step. A police team is attempting to contact the deceased's wife Chanchal. Further action will be taken after receiving statements from the family.”
The bodies of Karmaveer and his two daughters have been sent for postmortem examination.
