Man kills elder brother in family dispute in Fatehabad

A 65-year-old man was allegedly killed by his younger brother in a family dispute at Nahla village of Fatehabad district on Thursday morning. The deceased has been identified as Raghubir Singh Beniwal.

According to the police, accused Satbir Singh Beniwal (60), attacked his elder brother with a wooden stick after a verbal argument escalated. SHO Surendra reached the spot and found Raghubir Singh lying injured and bleeding. He was taken to the local community health centre, where doctors declared him dead.

DSP Kulwant Singh Bishnoi also visited the spot. The police have taken Satbir Singh into custody. Based on a complaint by the victim’s son, Satish Beniwal, an FIR has been registered against Satbir and his wife Guddi Devi under murder charges. Satish alleged that his aunt Chand Devi had come to visit her brother Satbir a few days ago. On Thursday morning, when Raghubir called out to her, an argument started. Guddi Devi allegedly abused Raghubir and encouraged her husband to attack him.

IORampal Khileri said a case was registered, and the body has been sent to Fatehabad Civil Hospital for postmortem. During initial questioning, the accused Satbir claimed he did not intend to kill his brother. He said Raghubir was drunk and often created problems in the house. He said , in a fit of anger, he tried to hit Raghubir on the hand, but the stick struck his head instead.
