Man, leopard injured in road accident near Yamunanagar

A motorcycle rider and a leopard were injured in a road accident near Bhudkalan village, Yamunanagar, on Saturday night.

Inspector Lilu Ram of the Wildlife Department said Munish Kumar, a resident of Kisanpura village, was on his way to work at a stone crusher zone in Pratap Nagar when the incident occurred around 7.30 pm near a hydel project.

"The leopard suddenly appeared on the road and Munish’s motorcycle collided with it," said Inspector Lilu Ram. Munish fell and sustained injuries, after which he was admitted to the Community Health Centre in Pratap Nagar.

Eyewitnesses said the leopard sat on the spot for some time before moving away. "Our team searched for the leopard all night but could not locate it. The search is still ongoing to provide treatment if needed," added Lilu Ram.
