Man nabbed with 2.3 kg opium
A team of Ambala unit of Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau has arrested a man with 2.3 kg opium.
Acting on a tip-off, the accused was arrested from near Bilaspur in Yamunanagar district. The accused was identified as Sanjeev Kumar of Marwa Kalan village of Yamunanagar district and 2.3 kg of opium was recovered from his possession.
Sub-Inspector Rajesh Kumar added he was currently living in Dadu Majra colony in Chandigarh. He further said the price of the said consignment was about Rs 12 lakh in the international market. He said a case had been registered against the accused under various sections of the NDPS Act at the Bilaspur police station of Yamunanagar district.
“Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau is continuously tightening the noose around drug smugglers to make Haryana drug free,” said Rajesh.
