Man sentenced to 7-year jail, Rs 1.20L fine imposed

The court of Additional Sessions Judge Ashwani Kumar on Thursday sentenced a man to seven years of imprisonment and imposed a fine for committing obscene acts with his minor daughter.

According to the police, in August 2021, a 17-year-old girl had filed a complaint against her father and alleged that he committed an obscene act with her. Following the complaint, an FIR was registered under the POCSO Act and the Juvenile Justice Act against her father at Sector 10A police station. Later, the police arrested the accused.

After the accused’s arrest, the case was investigated thoroughly and all the necessary evidence and witnesses were collected and presented in the court.

“On the basis of the chargesheet filed by the Gurugram Police with the evidence and witnesses, the court of Additional Sessions Judge Ashwani Kumar held the accused guilty and sentenced him to seven years of imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1.20 lakh on Thursday,” said Sandeep Kumar, police spokesperson.
