A 27-year-old was murdered in the district on Monday night. While the police have registered a case against three persons in this regard, no arrests have been made so far.

According to a complaint lodged with the police, the victim was identified as Surender, a resident of Salagarh village. He was at his house at 8 pm, when three of his friends, identified as Kishore alias Ashish, Pradeep and Lokesh, arrived at his residence and took him someplace.

It is claimed that Renu, the sister of the deceased, received a call from Ashish at around 10.20 pm that Surender had been fired at by Lokesh. The victim was rushed to the civil hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

He was shot in his chest, it is reported.The cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained as the family members told the police that Surender had no enmity with anyone. The victim was due to get married in December.

This is the second such incident to take place on Raksha Bandhan in the region. A similar incident occurred Monday afternoon in Faridabad, where a 20-year-old was shot dead by two unidentified youngsters at his house.
