A person was stabbed to death at Ishapur Kheri village of Gohana in Sonepat. The Baroda police have registered a case against three persons of a family of the same village under sections of murder and began a probe into the matter.
The police have arrested one of the accused, Vikas. The deceased has been identified as Pankaj of Ishapur Kheri village in the Baroda area of Gohana. Pawan, brother of the deceased Pankaj, said Vikas was his next-door neighbour and he owned a shop there. His brother Pankaj came home late at night. As he parked his motorcycle at the gate he found that Vikas, alias Bittu, was drinking in front of their home. He asked Vikas not to drink there, this led to heated arguments between them, Pawan took his brother Pankaj inside the house.
After some time, Pankaj came out to park his motorcycle inside his house, but Vikas along with his brother and father attacked Pankaj with a sharp-edged weapon. As Pankaj sought help, the assailants fled from the spot. He and his family members admitted Pankaj to the Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him dead, the complainant said.
On getting the information, the Baroda police reached the spot to inquire into the matter. The FSL team collected samples from there. Following the complaint, the Baroda police have registered a case and began a probe into the matter.
Bharati Dabas, DCP, Gohana, said that prima facie the reason behind the murder was found to be an altercation between Pankaj and Vicky.
The body of the deceased has been handed over to the victim’s kin after a post-mortem examination, she added. Vikas, alias Bittu, has been arrested in the case, and he will be produced before the court on Tuesday, the DCP asserted.
