A man was found dead in a drain in the IMT Manesar area, with the police suspecting that he was murdered by strangulation with an electric wire. The body was reportedly placed inside a drum and discarded in the drain. As of now, the victim remains unidentified, but a murder case has been registered at the IMT Manesar police station.

According to a complaint filed by Sohan Singh, a security inspector at the Maruti Train Power Plant in IMT, two gardeners, Mohit and Nand Kishore, were pruning trees in the green belt near the drain on Saturday evening when they noticed a blue drum in the drain. The drum emitted a foul odour, prompting the gardeners to inform Singh.

Singh immediately visited the scene and alerted the police. A police team, along with forensic experts and a crime scene unit, arrived at the location and retrieved the drum from the drain. Inside, they found the body of a 27-year-old man, bound with a sari. Nothing was found on his person that could assist in identifying him.

Based on Singh’s complaint, an FIR was registered against unidentified persons under Sections 103(1) and 238(a) of the BNS at the IMT Manesar police station on Saturday.

“The body has been sent for a postmortem. Footage from nearby CCTV cameras is being reviewed, and local residents are being questioned. An FIR for murder has been registered, and the investigation is ongoing,” said Sub-Inspector Ishwar Singh, investigating officer.
