Man who sells clothes on cycle wins lottery of Rs 10 lakh
A man who sells clothes on a bicycle in Sirsa has won a lottery of Rs 10 lakh. His family couldn’t believe the good news when they were told about the win early on Wednesday.
The lucky winner, Ishwar, lives in Jasania village of Sirsa district. He had bought the lottery ticket for Rs 200 from Sardoolgarh, Punjab. The draw was held on Tuesday evening and he was informed about his win by Vinod Kumar, a lottery ticket seller. Vinod called Ishwar to share the news that he had won the second prize of Rs 10 lakh.
Ishwar has been buying lottery tickets for the past 15 years and usually bought his tickets from Vinod. On Tuesday evening, Ishwar had asked Vinod not to visit his village to sell tickets, so Vinod sent him the ticket through WhatsApp. Later, when the draw was announced, Vinod checked the numbers, he saw that Ishwar’s ticket had won the second prize.
Ishwar could hardly believe his luck. He said he was hardly able to sleep, overwhelmed by the news. On Wednesday morning, Deepak Monga, the owner of the lottery agency, of Sardoolgarh along with Vinod, visited Ishwar’s home to confirm the win. Deepak assured Ishwar that his claim would be processed on January 10, and the money would be transferred to his bank account soon.
Ishwar comes from a poor family and works hard, selling clothes door to door. He plans to use the prize money to open a clothing shop in his village. Interestingly, Ishwar had bought the ticket in his son Aryan's name. Aryan is speech and hearing impaired and Ishwar feels that his son's name had brought them luck.
