A day after Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini visited Manesar to seek support for BJP candidates in the civic body polls, mayoral candidate Sundar Lal said Manesar would soon be the new face of the state, and Asia’s best auto hub.

Addressing an array of public meetings here on Monday, he said Manesar was coming out of the shadows of the glitzy cyber city of Gurugram and leaving its mark.

“Manesar is no longer the industrial satellite town of Gurugram. It is the seat of luxury realty, new age industry and foreign investments along with top educational institutes. It is a town of potential. It got its own Municipal Corporation some four years ago and now, the people are going to get the true power. The BJP will lay the foundation stone for Manesar’s revamp,” said Sundar.

Promising a uniform development of civic infrastructure, Sundar Lal, while speaking to The Tribune said Manesar was a unique blend of condominiums and villages.

“Manesar has two different shades, one which is rural with basic civic issues, and the other with posh new age societies. The city needs a balanced approach to development and only we can give them the same. We have a special plan for city which will show results within a year,” he said.
