'Mantra' chanting marks start of 'Diksharambh' at MDU, Rohtak
The three-day Diksharambh festival — held to welcome undergraduate students — commenced at Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, on Monday with great pomp, marked by the sacred sounds of conch blowing and the chanting of Vedic mantras.
Vice-Chancellor Rajbir Singh, as the chief guest, inaugurated the event and delved into the multifaceted formulas of life-building.
Motivational speaker Jasbir Lohan exhorted the new students to adopt the path of entrepreneurship. Describing education as the passport to the future, he talked about focusing on one’s goal right from student life.
He exhorted students to turn stress into strength and be happy in life. Special guest Dr Sita Ram Vyas said students should gain practical knowledge along with education. Registrar Dr Krishan Kant exhorted students to move ahead with a positive mindset.
Harish Kumar, Dean (Academic Affairs); Dr Sharanjit Kaur, Chairperson, Rehabilitation Council of India; Sapna Garg, Dean (Students’ Welfare); and Randeep Rana, Proctor, were among the attendees of the event.
