Martyr’s sister gets job, govt pledges continued support to soldiers’ families
Reaffirming its commitment to the welfare of martyrs' families, the Haryana Government today appointed Neeraj, the sister of late soldier Nishant Malik, as a Junior Engineer (JE) in the Public Works Department (PWD).
Nishant Malik, a braveheart from Hisar, sacrificed his life in 2022 during an encounter with militants in the Poonch-Rajouri area of Jammu and Kashmir. At the time, his family received Rs 50 lakh in financial assistance under the state’s policy for fallen soldiers.
Today, Haryana’s Public Works and Public Health Engineering Minister, Ranbir Gangwa, handed over the appointment letter to Neeraj at his office in the Haryana Civil Secretariat.
Speaking to reporters, Gangwa emphasised the state’s unwavering commitment to soldiers’ families.
“The Haryana Government stands with the families of our martyrs. In recognition of their sacrifice, we have increased the ex gratia assistance from Rs 50 lakh to Rs 1 crore and are also providing government jobs to their kin,” Gangwa said.
Hansi MLA Vinod Bhayana, who was also present, echoed the sentiment.
“We can never repay the debt of our fallen heroes. Their sacrifice is the foundation of our nation’s security,” he stated.
Nishant Malik’s father, Jaiveer, and his sister, Neeraj, expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Minister Ranbir Gangwa and MLA Vinod Bhayana for their support.
