Massive fire at chemical factory in Karnal

No loss of life or injuries to workers reported

A major fire broke out at a factory in the industrial area of Sector 3 on Saturday morning.

The raging fire, which continued for more than three hours, gutted the factory completely. No loss of life or injuries to workers has been reported in the incident. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. The factory belongs to one Manoj Kumar of Karnal.

Panic spread through the area as towering flames and thick smoke engulfed the surroundings within minutes. As per eyewitnesses, the fire started at around 11 am, and shortly afterwards, drums filled with chemicals stored inside the factory began to explode, causing loud blasts that shook nearby buildings and shops.

Firefighters from Kurukshetra, Karnal and Panipat were deployed, with 18 fire engines pressed into action to contain the flame. Eyewitnesses described how the fire spread rapidly, giving workers little time to react. Many employees were seen running out of the premises to save themselves.

Firefighters controlled the fire by 2 pm. Police personnel were there to assist them. Rescue and relief operations were in full swing as authorities worked to contain the blaze and ensure public safety.
