A major fire broke out in a textile manufacturing unit in Balana village in Israna area on Friday morning, prompting the fire department to rush multiple engines to the spot. Firefighters continued operations for several hours to bring the blaze under control.
According to initial information, the fire erupted at CRG Cotex Private Limited around the start of the morning shift. Huge flames quickly spread through the factory premises, engulfing raw material as well as finished products.
Workers present at the time managed to escape and immediately alerted the fire department. Fire tenders were deployed without delay and began efforts to contain the flames.
A short circuit is suspected to have triggered the fire, though officials said the exact cause is yet to be confirmed. No loss of life has been reported.
Fire Safety Officer Gurmail Singh said, “After getting information, fire tenders have been sent to the spot to douse the flames.” He added that it took approximately six hours to bring the situation under control.
