Suman Bahamani, Mayor of Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ), visited the dairy complex in Darwa village, located near Jagadhri city, for an inspection recently. During her visit, the Mayor interacted with dairy owners and operators, listening to their concerns and problems. A key issue raised by the dairy owners was the absence of a veterinary doctor at the veterinary hospital within the complex. They expressed difficulties due to the unavailability of a doctor, which had been affecting their operations.

Expressing her concern, the Mayor assured the dairy owners that she would immediately address the issue by discussing it with the Animal Husbandry Minister, Shyam Singh Rana, to ensure a doctor is made available at the facility.

Accompanied by Chief Sanitation Inspector Harjeet Singh, Municipal Councillors Priyank Sharma, Jayant Swami and Reena Rastogi, the Mayor toured the entire dairy complex, including several individual dairies, to evaluate the cleanliness and hygiene systems.

During the inspection, it was noted that some dairy owners were improperly disposing of cow dung directly into the drains. The Mayor directed the dairy owners to stop this practice and take necessary steps for proper waste disposal.

“I spoke to the dairy owners and learned about their problems, including the lack of a veterinary doctor at the dairy complex’s hospital. I assured them that I would raise the issue with the Animal Husbandry Minister for a prompt resolution,” said Mayor Suman Bahamani.
