Another complaint regarding the MBBS exam scam at Pt BD Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak (USHR), has come to light, forcing the state to form an inquiry panel.

The complainant is an MBBS student, but is not from a private medical college whose 24 students, among 41 persons, were booked in connection with the scam on February 15.

“The complainant has exposed the unfair means allegedly being adopted before and after the exams in exchange for money to help students of his college clear the papers. He claimed that coded symbols or ‘signs’ were used to secure favourable marks, questions and corresponding answers were pre-distributed, and cheating materials, including cell phones, were smuggled into the exam halls,” sources claimed.

Examinees were, as claimed in the complaint, asked by the racketeers to submit blank answer sheets, which were later filled in. The students allegedly paid hefty bribes for it, they said.

“The complainant has also mentioned the name of his fellow student who reportedly did not attend classes or study the entire academic year, and even submitted blank answer sheets. Surprisingly, the student received full attendance and managed to score good marks,” the sources revealed.

Meanwhile, a four-member committee, led by Additional Director of PGIMS Rohtak, Subhita Dhaka, has been formed. The committee includes two officials from Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati Government Medical College, Nalhar, and an official from the Department of Medical Research and Education Haryana.

On being contacted, the Additional Director, PGIMS, refused to comment.

Complainant names college

The whistle-blower has named his private college in a complaint filed with the UHSR in January. He claimed that students from this college were allegedly in contact with the racketeers who facilitated them in clearing the exams in exchange for money.
