Sources indicate that the agency will be paid Rs 1,417 for each monkey captured. It is estimated that around 3,000 monkeys inhabit Bahadurgarh, who pose a risk to residents. Numerous incidents of monkey attacks have been reported in the city in recent weeks.

“The simian scare has become a significant nuisance for residents. They damage household items and steal food from homes. Troops of monkeys can often be seen crossing roads and streets. They don’t hesitate to attack if one tries to shoo them away,” said Sushil, a Bahadurgarh resident.

Parveen, a local shopkeeper, shared an incident where an elderly man was attacked by a monkey a few days ago. The man was carrying fruit home from the market when a monkey snatched it from his hand and fled. This incident underscores the urgent need to capture the monkeys to protect people, he added.

Suresh, another resident, said, “Monkeys create chaos on rooftops and walls. They damage items inside homes and even tear clothes hanging outside, prompting homeowners to install iron grills and nets for protection.”
