MC leaves no stone unturned to get good ranking in Swachh Survekshan
The authorities of the Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ) are leaving no stone unturned to get good ranking in Swachh Survekshan.
The authorities of the MCYJ have asked all sanitation officials to visit in their assigned areas regularly to check the status of sanitation works being undertaken by the MCYJ.
They have been asked to pay special attention to door-to-door garbage collection, to resolve every complaint received through the Swachhata App and other portals on time and to check the status of public toilets and improve their cleanliness system.
On the instructions of Municipal Commissioner Ayush Sinha, these directions were issued by Additional Municipal Commissioner Dr Vijay Pal Yadav.
“All sanitation officials have been asked to be alert for bringing the best ranking in Swachh Survekshan 2024. They have been asked that there should be no heap of garbage present at any place,” said Yadav.
He said the officials of the MCYJ were asked to take action against owners of septic tanks roaming in twin cities without registration.
“We discussed with the officials of the MCYJ about door-to-door garbage collection, disposal of the garbage, transportation of the garbage, night sweeping work, cleanliness awareness campaign/drives, cleaning of public toilets, cleaning of empty plots and public places and registration of septic tank owners in the twin cities,” said Yadav.
He said several other issues related to geo tagging of before and after photos, ban on single-use plastic items, solid waste management, settlement of complaints received on the Swachhata App and portal and other topics related to the Swachh Survey were also discussed.
“The officials have been asked that all community toilets should be cleaned immediately in the twin cities. The officials of engineering and sanitation branches should inspect the public toilets and get the deficiencies fixed,” said Yadav.
He said the officials were also asked to take action against the wholesalers, retailers and other persons, who were found indulging in sale and use of banned single-use-plastic items.
He also appealed to the citizens not to throw garbage in open places and demanded suggestions from them for improvement of sanitation in the twin cities.
