MC lights up Y’nagar’s Govindpuri Road
The Yamunanagar-Jagadhri Municipal Corporation (MC) has completed the installation work of decorative lights on the Madhu Chowk-Kanhaiya Sahib Chowk stretch of Govindpuri Road.
Earlier, similar lights had been installed on Gymkhana Club Road.
Soon, decorative lights will also be installed by the MC on Workshop Road.
Municipal Commissioner Ayush Sinha said, under the Divya Nagar Yojana, three main roads of the twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri were to be beautified.
“The work of installing fancy decorative lights on both Gymkhana Club Road and Govindpuri Road has been completed. The work of constructing footpaths, protective walls around trees and plants, and installing tiles on Gymkhana Club Road is in progress,” the Municipal Commissioner said.
After the completion of work on those two roads, the beautification work of Workshop Road would start, he added.
“Old streetlights are being removed from these roads and new decorative lights are being installed. These lights are very attractive,” Sinha said.
He added that under the Divya Nagar Yojana, Rs 7.19 crore was being spent on the beautification work of these roads. He said the MC was beautifying Gymkhana Club Road at a cost of about Rs 2.25 crore.
He added that Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk-Maharana Pratap Chowk stretch of Workshop Road was to be beautified at a cost of Rs 3.78 crore.
He said the Madhu Chowk-Kanhaiya Sahib Chowk stretch of Govindpuri Road was being beautified at a cost of Rs 81 lakh.
Sinha added that streetlights removed from these routes would be installed at other places.
