MC removes encroachment from Y’nagar, Jagadhri

The Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ) launched an anti -encroachment drive in Jagadhri and Yamunanagar.

A team of the MCYJ removed encroachments from Maharana Pratap Chowk to Kanhaiya Chowk and from Jagadhri bus stand to Rakshak Vihar checkpoint.

The team also removed encroachment from the fruit market built near Sant Nirankari Bhawan on Railway Road.

The fruit sellers had occupied the footpath affecting the traffic movement in the area.

On the instructions of Municipal Commissioner Mahabir Parsad, a team led by Chief Sanitation Inspector Anil Nain freed the footpath from encroachment.

After removing encroachment, the fruit sellers were made to keep the fruits in their carts. The team of the MCYJ also drew a yellow line on the footpath.

CSI Anil Nain said the fruit sellers were warned that if they crossed the yellow line and kept their goods on the footpath or road, their goods would be confiscated.

He said the fruit vendors at the fruit market situated on Railway Road had encroached on the footpath by placing their goods there.

He further said the MCYJ was getting complaints in this regard. He said on the instructions of Municipal Commissioner Mahabir Parsad, he visited the fruit market.

“During the inspection, I found that the fruit vendors had encroached upon the footpath, even extending to the road,” said Anil Nain.

He said that he instructed all fruit vendors to vacate the footpath within an hour.

“Following our instructions, the vendors themselves cleared the footpath by placing their goods on THE carts. During this period, our employees drew a yellow line in the fruit market. All fruit vendors were warned that if they crossed the yellow line and encroached on the footpath or road, their goods would be confiscated,” said Anil Nain.

He said this action had brought relief to THE pedestrians and motorists.
