He further said that the sealing action would continue in future also.

“The property owners with outstanding property taxes exceeding Rs 1 lakh were issued notices under the Haryana Municipal Corporation Act, 1994, a few months ago. After receiving the notices, some property owners paid the tax, but others have not yet paid,” said Parsad.

According to information, the team of Regional Taxation Officers Ajay Walia and Jitender Malhotra reached at a petrol pump, located on the Bypass Road in Jagadhri and sealed it for non-payment of property tax.

The owners of the petrol pump owed Rs 29,63,699 property tax to the MCYJ.

After completing the sealing process, the MCYJ employees also pasted a warning notice on the petrol pump office gate stating that legal action would be taken if the seal was opened without permission.

The team of the MCYJ also sealed a shop located at Maharana Pratap Chowk in Yamunanagar. The owner of the shop owned Rs 23,00,384 to the MCYJ.

Similarly, the MCYJ team sealed one more shop in the said colony as the owner of the shop owed Rs 2,36,684 property tax to the MCYJ.

Besides, the MCYJ team also sealed a shop located in Camp Area, Yamunanagar, as the owner of the shop failed to pay property tax of Rs 1,96,199.

Parsad further said the MCYJ was continuously taking action against property tax defaulters.

“The properties of tax defaulters, who are having more than Rs 1 lakh property tax, are now being sealed. To avoid sealing action, the property owners should deposit their outstanding property tax,” said Parsad.
