MC starts beautification work of Yamunanagar road
The Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ), has started the beautification work of the Gymkhana Club road in Yamunanagar.
After removing encroachments and illegal occupation from both sides of the road, a circular boundary was being made for the protection of trees planted on the roadside. Besides, decorative lights have been installed on the road.
After completion of the beautification work of the road, the MCYJ will start beautifying Govindpuri and Workshop roads.
Municipal Commissioner Ayush Sinha directed officials to get the beautification work of all three roads done as soon as possible.
According to information, under the Divya Nagar Yojana, the MCYJ is going to beautify Gymkhana Club road at a cost of about Rs 2.25 crore, Workshop road from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk to Maharana Pratap Chowk at a cost of Rs 3.78 crore and Govindpuri road from Madhu Chowk to Kanhaiya Sahib Chowk at a cost of Rs 81 lakh.
Fancy lights will be installed on all three routes by the MCYJ and footpaths will be made for pedestrians.
“Old streetlights are being removed from the roads and new fancy lights are being installed,” said Sinha.
He said benches would be installed at various places on the footpaths for pedestrians to sit and a circular boundary was being made for the protection of trees planted on the roadside.
“The work to beautify the Gymkhana Club road is in progress. The work of installing fancy lights on the route has been completed by the MCYJ. The tiles are being laid to make footpaths by removing illegal encroachments on both sides of the road,” said Sinha.
He said the boundary for trees and plants was made towards Sector 17 of Jagadhri. “Also, plants will be planted on the dividers and footpaths of all three roads, increasing greenery there,” said Sinha.
He further said soon the work to beautify this route would be completed.
“We are trying to make twin cities Yamunanagar and Jagadhri clean, neat and beautiful. Under the Divya Nagar Yojana, soon all three roads will be beautified,” said Ayush Sinha.
