MC to remove encroachments from its land in Yamunanagar & Jagadhri
Civic body Commissioner instructs officials to take action against violators
The Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ) will remove encroachments from its land. The MCYJ will seal properties that have been constructed without getting the building map passed from the MCYJ.
In this connection, MCYJ Commissioner Mahabir Parsad held a meeting with the officials and gave them instructions to take action against violators.
Additional Municipal Commissioner Dheeraj Kumar, DTP of the MCYJ Narender Suhag, ATP Darshan Lal, building inspectors Naresh Dahiya, Harinder Kumar, Amit Kumar and Vishal Chauhan were present at the meeting. At the meeting, Municipal Commissioner Mahabir Prasad instructed the officials to take action against those who encroached upon the corporation’s land and those who constructed buildings without getting building maps passed.
He also asked all officials to report on how many building owners had received first and second notices, how many buildings were sealed, and how many were demolished.
He directed them to submit the report as soon as possible. He also asked them to report on how many files related to map approvals had been resolved and how many were still pending.
The Municipal Commissioner issued strict instructions to officials to crack down on those who developed illegal colonies.
“I asked the officials to take action against persons who are found developing illegal colonies. Besides, I asked them to take action against those who are constructing illegal buildings without getting building maps passed,” said Mahabir Parsad. He said that after issuing a final notice, the officers should seal the buildings which were constructed without getting building maps passed.
“If anyone breaks the seal without permission, FIRs will be registered against such persons,” said Mahabir Parsad.
He said even after sealing, if the building owner failed to get a map passed as per the rules and fulfil other conditions, the building would be demolished with the help of the police force. He said that commercial activities should not be allowed in residential areas.“The Municipal Corporation will soon conduct demarcation drive to identify its land. After demarcation, encroachments will be removed. The corporation’s land will be fenced, so that it can be used for public benefit,” said Mahabir Parsad.
