MDU-Rohtak postpones interviews for faculty posts
The authorities of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, have postponed the interviews for faculty positions scheduled for October 8.
As per a fresh mail sent to the applicants by the university administration on Friday, it has been stated that the interviews have been postponed till further orders.
In the mail, a copy of which is in possession of The Tribune, the MDU Administration have cited administrative reasons behind the postponement of the interviews.
It may be pertinent to mention here that on Thursday, the Haryana Government had ordered the vice-chancellors of all state universities to withhold recruitment processes initiated at the universities with immediate effect.
The Principal Secretary (Higher Education), Haryana, had shot off a communique in this regard to the vice-chancellors on Thursday.
In earlier orders dated September 29, the Haryana Government had allowed the state universities to continue the recruitment process initiated before the imposition of the Model Code of Conduct.
"However, in view of the numerous complaints that have been received alleging possibility of favouritism that may prove beneficial to some candidates in the forthcoming elections in Haryana, the matter has been reconsidered and it has now been decided to stop all the ongoing recruitment processes immediately, irrespective of any stage, in all state universities of Haryana," state yesterday's orders.
Following the said orders, the MDU Administration has put the recruitment process on hold.
