This was stated by media expert and faculty member of department of journalism & mass communication of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) Sunit Mukherjee in a special lecture on “Medica Literacy” session organised in the department of English & foreign languages on the occasion of International Literacy Day.

Mukherjee gave numerous examples of fake news and devious disinformation campaigns for vested interest and malafide purposes. “Students must check the veracity of information and news before sharing it on various social media handles. Fact-check before forwarding & sharing should be the mantra of students,” he said.
