Meeting held at CDLU for effective implementation of NEP
A meeting was held at Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU), Sirsa, on Thursday by the office of Dean of Colleges to discuss the effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 across all degree colleges affiliated with the university.
During the meeting, Dean of Colleges, Prof Arti Gaur, shared that NEP 2020 would be implemented in all colleges from the 2024-25 academic session. She stated that the primary objective of the meeting was to address issues and challenges faced by colleges in implementing the new policy.
Prof Surendra Singh, NEP 2020 Nodal Officer, provided detailed information about the policy to college principals and faculty members. He explained the key differences between the old and new education policies, emphasising that NEP 2020 offered students more flexibility, allowing them to study subjects from other faculties as well.
The principals and faculty members present raised concerns about the challenges in implementing the new education policy. Solutions to these problems were provided on the spot by Prof Surendra Singh, Dr Rajesh Bansal, the university Registrar, Prof Suresh Kumar Gahlawat, the Dean of Academic Affairs, Prof Arti Gaur, Prof Sushil Kumar, the Director of UITDC, and Prof Shailendra Singh, the Examination Controller.
Gaur announced that such meetings would be held every three months to ensure timely resolution of any emerging issues related to the policy. The meeting was attended by 106 principals and teachers from various affiliated colleges.
