Mega monitoring of 478 govt primary schools to be done in Ambala
Aimed at improving the quality of education and infrastructure at primary schools, a mega monitoring of 478 primary school will be done in Ambala under the Shiksha Dikhsa Paryavekshan proramme of the Education Department.
Under the monitoring, officials of the Education Department will visit government primary schools to evaluate various parameters, including academic progress, infrastructure and compliance with educational policies. The officials will visit the schools on December 23 and observational reports will be uploaded on the department’s portal.
An official in the Education Department said, “To monitor education being given to the children in all 478 primary schools in Ambala district and the existing system there and to improve it further, the Shiksha Diksha Supervision Programme will be organised in all these schools. Under the programme, a superviser nominated by the department will reach the school before the morning prayer meeting and will stay in the school the whole day to monitor the academic progress and infrastructure. Each superviser will fill his report and data related to the school on the department's portal, on the basis of which the report of the schools will be prepared and the schools performing excellently will also be nominated for state-level incentives.”
The superviser nominated by the District Project Coordinator Samagra Shiksha office will check class-wise skill passbooks, progress of foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) programme, learning outcome of children, teaching methods of teachers in the class, distribution of text books, work books and other materials to children, midday meal scheme, bag-free English medium school, smart classroom, maths kits, grants, dual desk, Bal Vatika and various programmes organised by the department.
Then the superviser will discuss with the members of the school management committee and gram panchayat about various programmes being run by the education department and guide them about their role in the NIPUN Haryana Mission. The superviser will also discuss his observation with the school staff and give remedial suggestions and share his observation report on the department's portal.
District Elementary Education Officer (DEEO) Sudhir Kalra said, “Earlier, two mega monitoring drives were held to see the progress of the NIPUN Haryana Mission programme in Ambala district. In all there were 478 primary schools of Ambala district, under which the level of education of children from class I to class III was evaluated. This time, the supervision will be done by the Haryana School Shiksha Pariyojana Parishad in which along with the level of education of children, teaching methods adopted by the teachers, facilities, role of teachers, school management committee and village panchayat in school development will also be checked.”
“To ensure that there is no bias with the schools during supervision, supervisers from other clusters and blocks will be sent for monitoring. The objective of the supervision is to achieve the goals of NIPUN Haryana on time by strengthening positive reforms in the schools. Rolled out in 2021, the NIPUN Haryana mission aims at improving the foundational literacy (Hindi and English) and mathematics for students up to Class III. Under the mission, the state is undertaking initiatives to ensure that all students become foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) competent by Class III. So far, the students from Class I to III are included in the NIPUN mission but soon the students of classes IV and V will also be covered under the mission. Constant efforts are being made to improve the FLN competency of the students and provide good infrastructure to the students”, he added.
