The police have registered an FIR under Sections 120-B, 406, 420, 467, 468 and 471 of the IPC against Independent MLA from Meham Balraj Kundu on the basis of a complaint of multi-crore financial fraud and other offences lodged by a Rohtak resident.

The complainant, Narender Dhankhar, has maintained that Balraj Kundu and his brother Shivraj Kundu, who run a construction company, had got four construction projects done by him and his brother Ramesh Dhankhar.

“Kundu’s company owed us Rs 10.5 crore. We kept on persuading Balraj and his brother to make the payment. We also staged protest demonstrations and held panchayats to settle the matter amicably, but they kept on dilly-dallying on the payment for several years and eventually stopped receiving our calls,” said the complainant.

“Balraj and his brother have defrauded us of a massive amount, due to which our family has been devastated. The police have finally registered an FIR on our complaint. We now hope to get justice, for which we have been running from pillar to post for years,” Ramesh Dhankhar said while talking to The Tribune this evening.

On being contacted for his comments, Balraj Kundu maintained that he was being framed in the case due to political vendetta at the instance of former Haryana minister and senior BJP leader Manish Grover. He also blamed the local SP for getting the FIR registered against him.

“They are trying to suppress my voice, but my battle against corruption will continue,” he stated.

It may be pertinent to mention here that Kundu, who is the Independent MLA from Meham Assembly constituency and supports the BJP government in Haryana, had recently levelled serious allegations of corruption against Grover.
