Meham MLA Kundu alleges assault by Congress leader Dangi at polling booth
There was an alleged physical assault on an outgoing MLA barely an hour after the commencement of the polling process at Madina village of Meham constituency in Rohtak district on Saturday.
Outgoing MLA and Haryana Jansewak Party (HJP) candidate from Meham Balraj Singh Kundu alleged physical assault on him and his personal assistant (PA) by Congress candidate Balram Dangi's father and former Haryana minister Anand Singh Dangi at a polling booth.
"I had gone to a polling booth at Madina village to see the voting process. Anand Singh Dangi, who was present there with nearly 20-25 supporters, assaulted me and tore off my clothes. My PA was attacked and injured in the physical assault by Dangi and his supporters," alleged Kundu.
The outgoing MLA has also lodged a police complaint.
Anand Singh Dangi refuted the allegations as baseless, saying he had left the spot before the alleged assault took place.
Meanwhile, Rohtak Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar and Superintendent of Police Himanshu Garg visited Madina and nearby villages to inspect the polling process.
