Jhajjar, February 25
The CIA-II branch of the district police today arrested a member of the notorious Tillu Tajpuriya gang that is active in Delhi and its nearby areas. It also recovered an illegal country-made pistol and a stolen motorcycle from his possession.
Inspector Vivek Malik, in charge, CIA-II, Bahadurgarh, said the accused, identified as Kunal, alias Shanti, of Khairpur village (Jhajjar), had been arrested from near Kanaunda village in Bahadurgarh area when he was riding the stolen motorbike.
“After the murder of Tillu Tajpuria, the gang is now being operated by Chiku Dhankar. Preliminary investigation has revealed Kunal’s association with Chiku. The former used to perpetrate crimes on the behest of the latter. Kunal was today produced in a local court, which sent him to judicial custody,” said Malik. The inspector informed that during interrogation, Kunal disclosed that he had stolen the motorcycle from the Haiderpur-Badli Metro Station in Delhi on February 12. He also confessed to his involvement in five cases lodged in Delhi and Jhajjar district, he added. Last month, Kunal was allegedly involved in a car theft bid in Bahadurgarh town.
